[Discussion moved from The Right One dedicated trade room]

So I sent my payment to Paul a couple of weeks ago, I did so promptly at his request. He told me he'd have the fluid sent out the next day, I'm still waiting. No pm, no reply to my pm, nothing!

Thanks for slagging me off in my trade area without contacting me to solve the problem first Alex. I might of told you tha O was having problems with my couriers if you had. I might also have been able to tell you that they had expressed concern that yours was what they termed a non standard address. I have always bent over backwards to provide good quality products, at fair prices and good customer service. You are the first person to complain and had you bothered to communicate with be the problem would have been resolved promptly.

er why didn't you contact him and tell him about the delay?

The thing is I did. I sent a pm with no reply, left it a couple of days and then posted here.

I don't particularly like you making me out to be the arse here when I did indeed try to contact you privately.

Correction: on checking my sent box it was 21 hours between being ignored by pm and posting on the thread.

I can find no pm from you, the settings I use email me when I get a pm on the forum and I've checked my email and found nothing. You say you posted less than a day after sending the message, let's leave this Alex don't buy from me again then we won't have a problem.

I find you attacking me for your poor service pretty disgusting. Yes I posted on the thread less than 24 hours after sending you the pm, perhaps that was a little hasty. I believe though that if you have courier problems you should have sent me a pm to inform me, you did have 2 weeks time to let me know of any problems before I contacted you. If I sell something and for whatever reason I'm unable to dispatch the item the next day or two I will send a courteous email informing the recipient of the situation.

If you believe that you provided a good service to me and I'm in the wrong then I will agree to never buy from you again.

Ah yes, of course you did. Apologies. I guess I was on the defensive after reading Pauls post.

Unless someone tells me the package has not arrived, I don't know until the courier service tells me or I do a search on the individual tracking number, which I don't as sensible people tell me the is a problem, on the rare occasion there is one. Being notified by the courier or royal mail can take up to three weeks. You only had to contact me. Anyway, the Right One shop on AoS is now closed, if anyone wants my products you can buy them at full price on eBay.

You seem to be completely disregarding the fact I did pm you. You say that you never received either my pm or an email notification informing you that I had sent you a pm. I'm not sure if you're insinuating that I'm being dishonest but here is a screenshot of said pm.

Hi Alex,

Much as I sympathise with your situation (although I also know that Paul has handled himself professionally) this is absolutely ridiculous! Did you not read the rules here for this section of the forum, which you are clearly in breach of:

http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?13935-***-WARNING-everyone-PLEASE-READ!!!-***

It's of paramount importance that folks actually READ and DIGEST any rules and warnings posted on the forum, as they're not produced for the good of my health!

I'll let you off this time, if you missed reading the rules, but if anyone's trade thread is crapped on again in this way, no matter how justified you feel for doing so, I will have no option but to impose a ban, as outlined.

After you've read this post, I will move your remarks from Paul's dedicated trade room, together with his replies, to the off-topic section of the forum, where if necessary you can continue your dispute with a view to resolving it to your mutual satisfaction.

Paul, sorry I never saw this until late, as I had friends round this evening, so was otherwise engaged!

Marco.

Hi Marco,

I have read the rules and I do not believe I have broken them in anyway?

Regards,
Alex

You have indeed, Alex. Note the emboldened text, in the rules outlined, especially the bit at the end in red:

This room is therefore for trade members to introduce/promote themselves and their businesses, post their sales lists and links to their own sites. Fundamentally, it is for the SOLE purpose of our trade members to advertise and sell their products, and for those who are genuinely interested in buying items advertised for sale (or making serious enquiries), to post comments, if necessary.

It is NOT, under any circumstances, for people to 'thread crap', by discrediting or undermining (intentionally or not) the validity or functionality of the products being advertised, or to critically 'challenge' them in any way, or the prices being charged, nor is it the place to bring up any off-topic disputes between members and traders.

Essentially, the trade section is SOLELY for traders to advertise and promote their wares, and for interested parties to respond. If you have an outstanding issue with any trader, then you MUST not conduct it on a trade member's dedicated sub-forum/shop, such as you've done here. A separate thread should be started elsewhere, as outlined in the rules.

Marco.

I understood this dispute to be on topic.

Pm sent Marco.

Marco

The point is, this ISN"T the place for disputes to take place.

Marco.

No need to PM me, Alex. I need to you to understand and accept that you were out of order, and to acknowledge that in future you know where such disputes should be carried out. No-one's denying you the right to challenge a trader, if you have a genuine grievance, just that this section of the forum isn't the appropriate place to carry it out :)

Marco.

Yes I do understand that.

I now know that if I order a product through a trader here and it isn't delivered, nor is the trader responsive to me trying to settle the issue privately, I should go and start a thread regarding this issue elsewhere.

Marco

Indeed, or if your grievance isn't resolved to your satisfaction, after you've PM'd the trader directly, then alert either myself or one of the mods, and we will deal with the matter on your behalf :)

Marco.
