I am selling my Karan Reference MkII two-box preamp which has a built in MC/MM phono stage.
Completely balanced, dual mono circuit topology, with 24k gold plated circuit boards, all stages are DC coupled and operate in pure class A. In order to achieve the best results possible it was necessary to divide the power supply into a separate casing, which brought its influence on the electronics to a minimum. In order to avoid the inherent nonlinearities of potentiometers, this preamp uses a four-gang attenuator, with 64 positions, implemented by using the highest quality vacuum relays and fixed value 0.1% tolerance metal film resistors due to the high sensitivity to interference of preamplifiers. The huge power supply has been relegated to a separate case of its own, and has been made ultra stable using four stabilization levels per channel.
Choice of single ended connections or fully-balanced operation.
I purchased this preamp new from Audiofreaks dealer, Blade Audio in 2009 and the RRP at the time was in excess of £11,000.
This is a top flight preamp, with the added versatility of a built in MC/MM phono stage and is offered for sale in excellent condition, including original wooden shipping cases, remote control and user manual. A search of the internet will find reviews and testimonials as to it's high-end performance. The phono stage is user adjustable by removing the top plate and configuring the dip switches accordingly.
