Likely Heresy :-) But I've heard Genuinely Primitive (in appearance only;) diy Tone arms... fitted with salvaged Computer mouse wires.
Distinctly outsound an SME setup with Cardass wires.
Have been told that Earbud wires are a decent source/choice as well
Worth a try.. if not too risk averse ?

Yannis will make you one up Al, either bare wire at one end, or you could send the connector to him. Depends on your budget though.

The one I need is a round male fitting that plugs into the bottom of the tonearm

Did the original Mission 774 arm have captive leads from the arm base?

Yes, a microphone cable straight to the terminal block on the base.

So is Al's arm either modified or a Mk. II version with a plug and socket in the arm base? If the latter, then it is likely to be a 5-pin mini-DIN connector, of which there are numerous samples available.

Al, have a look and preferably take a photo of the connector. If it is a mini-DIN connector, I have a lead you could have.

That looks to be a later version of the arm the rest of us have been discussing. Is your arm designated as a Mission 774?

No matter, it looks to be a 5-pin mini-DIN connector. Would you be interested in an arm lead? If so PM me your address.

Cheers
Barry

Yes, a microphone cable straight to the terminal block on the base.

This applies to the original 774 arm and not the one Al has which was a budget arm using the standard 5 pin connector as fitted to numerous arms over the decades.
