I have too many bits of kit (in particular 15 IPS 2 track R2R machines) and I have decided to let this old friend go. This is the classic valve Revox G36, arguably the best sounding valve R2R made for the retail market - used by people like the Beatles and Pete Townshend in his home studio. It will take spools up to 10.5 inches in size.

Most G36s are standard speed 3.75/7.5 IPS. This is a high speed 7.5/15 IPS two track version version (19/38 cm/sec), which still has it original factory tag attached (which says 19/38 -ie 19/38 cm/sec and the correct serial number). The Revox aficionados will note that the speed markings on the faceplate are 3.75/7.5, even though this is a 7.5/15 IPS machine. I can't be sure if this was 7.5/15 IPS originally or whether it was a factory high speed conversion (it has a factory stamped tag) - I contacted Revox and they haven't kept serial number records.

It is in excellent condition for its age and the heads look fine. It was serviced last year by Henry Dulat (toprepairman). I still have the receipt. Also Stewart Emmings (Lodgesound) looked at this last year too and thought it was lovely. Sound quality is excellent, as you would expect. Records fine as well. Photos and a short video below. If you want a class vintage 60s R2R, then please feel free to have a look. Very happy to demonstrate in Cheltenham.

I will supply this with a pair of Revox NAB centres and a 10.5 inch reel, so that all you need is tape. I will also supply copies of the instruction book & service manual as well as related sales literature and reviews. Collection would be preferable from Cheltenham, given the nature of R2R machines, although I will ship (shipping won't be cheap - especially overseas). £975 collected (delivery extra)

High Speed G36s are rare beasts - hence the higher price.

Just to say that this has had less than 5 hours use since the service. I just use my other decks more (2 x Sony APR-5000) and Studer A807/II
