Roksan Nima tonearm

I got myself a Roksan Nima tonearm. Haven’t set it up yet, but soon I will.

It's not the latest Nima though, as its approx 1 year old.


I've been reading on lots of forums that this tonearm is liked very much, and does very well for the money. I always see some people regarding the Nima as a baby Naim Aro. Or in other words, ''a poor man's Naim Aro''


Any Nima owners here, if you will like to share your opinions about this arm. That will be grate.

Shane, it's a darned good arm that one. The ARO is also good but at an insane price. Just 'cos the ARO is three times the price of a Nima doesn't mean it's "that" much better you know ;)

I have Roksan Nima on my Funk Vector TT and I have been more than happy with this unipoint tonearm. When I bought the arm second hand it came with Roksan HD tonearm cable, which I was told makes a big difference. These cables are selling IRO £150.

The old Mayware Formula 4 tonearm was a hit in the seventies. The Nima seems to owe so much to this old lightweight unipivot and Touraj has added his magic to it, updating as he's gone.

Does £150 on the Roksan interconnect mean it's really better than some others at a fraction of the price? Not sure on that one, as £150 retail means £80 trade price, which isn't much different to the eBay specials, or the Jelco cable for that matter.

Just a ramble or three from yours truly :)

The Nima might be a good arm in it's own right but it bears no resemblance to the Aro. The only similarity I can see is that they are both unipivots....:scratch:

I cannot comment if the HD cable is better then the standard Nima cable I have not heard the standard cable. My understanding is that this HD cable is same which comes with Roksan Tabriz and Artemiz tomearms as an standard.

What I am actually looking for is a good quality XLR tonearm cable, would you have any good candidates? The connector needs to be straight, not 90 degree one.

I've not heard this arm personally, but very nearly bought one on it's reputation alone (I'm a unipivot fan :)) when I was looking for a new arm to go on my Denon. In the end I opted for a VPI JMW9.0 Memorial... coz 'the price was right'!

My Nima came with the standard cable.

I think the prev owner of my Nima used a Nordost Heimdall tonearm cable with it.
