View Full Version : Podium Sounds - Panel speakers
These are panel speakers like no others. They are not electrostatics. I have owned them from new and they have some amazing qualities. They are as new and deserve to be heard, costing just over £3500 when new. Lovely open holistic sound.
The construction is excellent and they are just the right colour to blend in seamlessly to their surroundings.
They are very efficient
Happy to demo. You may be amazed.

For several years Podium speakers were on dem at London shows I went to - I always enjoyed them. Very open and natural.
Fine speakers, well worth hearing - GLWS. :)
Thanks Gerry. Of all the bits I am selling these speakers will be the least known.
They were designed and built by Shelley Katz a professional concert pianist when he found there were no speakers available that were capable of reproducing the Grand Piano - I think the idea evolved from the sound board in the piano. They obviously play other genres of music beautifully.
I will try and capture the essence of the sound on a You Tube video
Are these in any way similar to the EAR Primary Drive speakers that use a planar panel to augment LF response?

I really cant believe I'm doing this. Take a £12,000 Hi Fi system. I record it through a camera, upload it to You Tube and then you play it back through computer speakers!
It might just give you a flavour of what these speakers do. Two more clips to follow, would you believe it takes 20 minutes to upload this :)

I didn't know of those speakers, but the technology of the tuned panel sounds similar. I guess they are discriminated in the patents:)
The Podiums have four drivers per panel. There is no need for a separate tweeter and more importantly there are no crossovers sucking the life out of the music.
The Podiums are more sensitive and quite a bit cheaper. :)
Videos sound pretty good, although it can be difficult to get a full impression you can often catch on a fair bit. I did some myself thinking you cant tell, but noticed differences during the build process etc. Sound and look great to me.
Thanks,
I find the frequency extremes have gone missing, but better than nothing.:)

I dont like jazz personally and this is the only jazz CD I have in a collection of 2500 CDs  But I know some of you guys love it.
The track is a bit longer this time and although I turned down the resolution on the camera it still took 54 minutes to upload to You Tube.
The occasional clicking is me adjusting the zoom on the camera.

Just to add to your collection!
The speakers got a good reception when they were new. No box aberrations here.
