Or, perhaps, something similar.
USB to digital co-ax.

Not that I would sell mine, but for clarification is that RCA plug or 75ohm BNC plug? Both are available and coax...

Try to get your hands on an iFi iDAC2 and USBPower. It doubles as really good USB to SPID converter.

Ah, good point.
RCA or BNC plug version. (I can get a BNC adapter)

Interesting, thanks.

I'm reluctant to get a new DAC as I am very happy with the one I have now.
But worth a try if an iFi doodad does happen to come along.

This looks cracking for the price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SMSL-X-USB-XMOS-USB-to-Spdif-Converter-DAC-Support-384KHZ-DSD64-DSD128-IIS-HDMI-/222141324141

Used Halide Bridges are scarce, and £300-odd new, but the SMSL is £60!!!

Thanks, David - but that Hiface stack looks like rather more £££ than I was planning to spend.

Thanks, Neil - I had spotted that. Must admit that I have been very impressed with SMSL kit.
For the nonce I have been tempted by another far Eastern product, and that is currently on its way to me from a UK source. An Opera Consonance 1.1 USB doodad. I've been very impressed by Opera kit, too.
I'll see how I get on with that, and then maybe invest in the SMSL as well.
But first I want to see if I think the Opera kit provides worthwhile subjective improvements.
--- I'm actually very happy with a £20 Muse mini USB DAC / converter (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Muse-Digital-Sound-Card-USB-to-Coaxial-Optical-Analog-Headphone-USB-DAC-Decoder/181430280644?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D37474%26meid%3D57b911f40b6a4a8fb96a845fae68 2787%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D10%26mehot%3D ag%26sd%3D262469300926), but have been tempted into investigating more expensive (better?) options!
