One or two changes since the last photos plus playing around with rope lights.

I think I'll fiddle about with them while saving up for the next upgrade. I've seen a pair of Naim SBL speakers on ebay, I had a pair years ago so might give them a try. I've had my Harbeths for many years so a chage will be interesting.

I like that. A bit early 1980s - a bit 'Scarface'.

Whole set up looks really good in fact.

Don't do it! Your memory of them may be a little 'rose tinted'. I really don't like them myself. My impression of those I heard was of colourations and a flat, two dimensional character. It's your choice of course.

Thanks for the advice, it must be at least 25 years ago when I had a pair and as you say the rose tints are playing me up. I've been searching for a pair of Nightingale NM1s but they seem to be a very rare beast. Could be another rose tinted moment but I do remember a friend had some and they sounded nice.......about a million years ago.

The Nightingales are pretty rare (in fact very). They were nice, but the drivers and crossovers will likely need sorting by now, should you be lucky enough to locate some. The Cambridge R50 is easier to find and as good. Or maybe a pair of big IMFs (quite similar in some ways).

If you can find them, the Chartwell PM400 is excellent, as is the Spendor S100.

Thanks for those suggestions, I shall defo look into them. I was rather spoilt a few years ago when I worked for Harbeth, not only were the full Harbeth range there to listen to but also other makers stuff, like being in a sweet shop.
