In full working order, unbelievable sound quality. Nice condition for the age bar the fact that the trim around the FTS buttons is missing (not that it matters much). If you haven't used in a while the disc tray sticks at the first time of asking, fine thereafter.*Supplied with a Marantz/Philips RC63D*CD remote. £265 plus post (at buyer's risk though I pack to survive a H-bomb) or preferably collect in person from just outside Bedford.

This is another CD player hyper bargain! Cheapest CD960 ever!!

This machine contains the best laser ever, the Philips CDM1. Even when the earth eventually gets sucked into a black hole, the CDM1 will still be reading/playing discs.

What's up with everyone?

I'd buy it now but I am broke hence having to sell my Denon CDP.

I suspect the problem may be that at least one of the four drive belts in the CDM1 drawer mechanism is in need of replacement.

Possibly. Have used it non-stop since the listing went up though and it's worked flawlessly so it's doesn't appear to be that big a deal.

It's the best CD player sound wise IMHO opinion. In days gone by I would have bought that off you in an instant, especially since I bid as much as £800 on a brand new, old stock unit on eBay just two years ago. Best of luck with the sale.

Have come to the same conclusion. Withdrawing it from sale for the moment...

Quite a thought!

I think the CD960 used the NE5532 opamps. They were excellent in the eighties, but well out of date by now. Replace them with the AD826 for a far more dynamic sound without losing the analogue presentation.

Thanks for the good advice Stanley!
