In the interest of fair disclosure I was once reminded by an old customer that I was once somewhat disparaging about a Technics 1200 when they told me they had bought one. I said why would you want one of those..... with a certain tone in my voice. Somewhat ironically I now own two.

I remember that sketch well... These days i feel like Mel Smith when i venture into a computer shop.
I know not all HI FI shops are the same, but the two local to me are the same as each other in that, you will be lucky if the guy behind the counter acknowledges that you have even entered the shop. Sometimes, but rare he may even raise his head from his laptop.
