Not finished yet so no impressions to report.
:)
Mmmm...like the look of those Alan. What sort of power output are you thinking and are they based on an Air design?

Definitely based on the AIR design, probably 100W or close to.
Looking good, and available in black. ;)
Will match the KIN nicely.

This is my first ever monoblock set-up, apart from when I repaired the Myst Gohm power amps.
I'm liking it a lot... there seems to be a greater clarity and presence to the music, or am I imagining it?
As with most things DIY it is giving a great satisfaction with having built something that performs so well.

I had to get a little creative with the heatsinking as a steel case doesn't give the same leeway as aluminium.

Just enjying a little Charlie Parker, bliss.

Thanks Jez. Now that I have had time to listen to some well known and favourite tracks I can appreciate the additional clarity and space afforded by a dual mono or fully monoblock set-up.
The sound just gets better at Chez Firebottle

Nice! Will these feature the same sound/tweaks of the AIR?

Simon sq, what would you suggest? I suppose dome head bolts would look good, the fitted ones came with the enclosures.
Simon LDT, the sound is better than the AIR, in the areas you would expect with a move to monoblocks.
I am rather glad I took the trouble, the bass is more dynamic, the channel separation is better and the image is clearer :yay:
I like the bolts that you have, give it a slight industrial feel.:)

Oh bugger....
More temptation!
With exposed valves I can't have them in the house though.

Well that's it then Kevin, off the menu for you
There is plenty of room to put the valve inside the case actually but I put them on the top for the aesthetics.
After realising that the heater was visible over its full length with these single triodes I also orientated the valve so the heater was visible from the front :stalks:
I am only talking incremental gains of performance, so enjoy what you have :)

Oh, I am enjoying the system now.
I would love to hear these one day, just to see, well hear, what you have managed to do this time.
