Apart from the horror and revulsion of another cowardly attack by terrorist bastards, I feel sorry for the French race in total.

Bastille Day will now be forever marred by the memory of this attack.

Yes agreed yesterday was a sad day

Inevitably there has been another dreadful attack. Many young people and chidren are the victims. I can't see an end to this, not just in France either. These kinds of atrocities are fuel for the extreme right, which is gathering momentum.

It's sickening and I wish the media wouldn't treat theses atrocities as "premeditated, well coordinated and planned terrorist attacks" but rather as "as a crime committed by a lone deranged person motivated by hate for life and joy".... even if it maybe isn't the complete truth.

edit: who in his right mind would drive a truck into a crowd of joyful and happy men, woman and children of all ethnicities and religions and beleive he will go to paradise after that ? These criminals are so brainwashed I'm not even sure they can still be classified as "human".

Indeed. There are too many of these waste of space vermin in the world. They need eradicating, and fast! :guns:

Marco.

Vermin is the right word. How they can do this in the name of any 'God' is totally beyond me.

But for all we know. That's exactly what it may have been. There's no doubt it would have been 'premeditated' and 'well coordinated'. The lorry didn't arrive there at that time by mere chance. And as for the 'planned terrorist attack' bit. What else could it be?

At least the shitbag that carried this out is dead and not hiding at Calais, waiting to come here.

Make no mistake. This individual was one of possibly hundreds of thousands across Europe, including the UK who see terror as a mission.

Another truly awful day for France, and Nice :(

Yes, pretty shocking. Surprised a vehicle was allowed on a route like that when such a display was on.

It wasn't. They started shooting at the driver when he approached the area and failed to stop, before he drove at the crowd.

There is footage on you tube seeming to show that, and its been shown on some news stations. Be careful though, there was footage showing people being run over. Not sure if its been pulled down, but it was there.

I couldn't watch it. It's horrific in every perceivable way.

What the hell is going on in this world. Mankind seems to be imploding.

The old money and power, desire of, and using religion etc as the catalyst. We notice it more as the world has got so small.

After this ghastly deed, I suspect many will be relieved that Brexit is on the way and will separate us more from Europe.

I think the death toll will rise significantly. So many victims in a terrible condition, just barely hanging on at the moment.

I don't think that will make any difference. Being an island helps a lot regardless of anything else. I don't think anyone is opposed to European and world-wide help and co-operation in preventing these attacks.

The driver of a lorry that killed 84 people in an attack in the French city of Nice has been confirmed as Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, 31.

Ten of the dead were children. Some 202 people were injured; 52 are critical, of whom 25 are on life support.

Prosecutors said Lahouaiej-Bouhlel had driven the lorry 2km (1.2 miles) along the famous Promenade des Anglais and fired at police before being shot dead.

The attack happened as thousands in Nice marked Bastille Day on Thursday.

Other weapons found inside the lorry were replicas or fake.
What the prosecutor said

Francois Molins said no group had admitted carrying out the attack but that it bore the hallmarks of jihadist terrorism.

Lahouaiej-Bouhlel drove the 19-tonne lorry into crowds at about 22:45 local time (20:45 GMT).

He fired at officers with a 7.65mm calibre automatic pistol when the vehicle was close to the Negresco hotel and continued for another 300m, where his vehicle was stopped near the Palais de la Mediterranee hotel and he was shot dead.

He was a worthless piece of shit. Like all his mentally warped terrorist kind.

I'm really struggling to comprehend the thinking behind this statement.

That's because it doesn't make any sense at all. ;)

We're already outside the Schengen border control agreement - not sure what else could be done Europe-wise.

We could stop sharing intelligence on terror suspects and criminals with the other EU members? That would make me feel a lot safer.

The thread appears to be drifting. It's about the awful attack in Nice, not UK immigration.
