Right then, I know how everyone on here loves lots of pictures, so since im kinda new here I thought I would introduce you to my system.

Details can be found in my Signature or in my 'Hello Everyone' thread, Found Here (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4541)

I must point out that this is the less tidy and professional version of the setup. I have a lot less space to play with and less accessories available to me whilst living away from home. :(
One of the main things are the whacking great slabs of granite for the speakers and Sub-woofer to sit on. The Hi-Fi rack (if you can call it that in my pictures) is somewhat better at home too.

Right, enough chit chat....more pretty pictures :eyebrows:

First up is the Left Dali Concept 6

The QED Qonduit mains conditioner. Judging by the number of empty source sockets, I could do with so more source equipment
Front left to right: Caiman DAC, Gemini Sub, Arcam Amp

Now for the Amp, its an Arcam DIVA A70. (Sorry about the dust at the back, I do frequently dust everything....just missed that bit :()

The centre piece of my system....The Caiman DAC :eyebrows: and what a DAC it is!

The backside of the amp, I do try and keep the cabling clean and tidy...honest
PC-DAC is: QED Performance Optical
DAC-Amp is: QED Reference Audio Evolution
Amp-Speakers is: QED XT Evolution with Airlocs both ends
Amp-Sub is: QED Performance Audio 1
Conditioner-Amp is: QED Mains Power cable

The right Dali Concept 6
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6717/p1020452iy.jpg

Here is my source which feeds the Caiman.
Its a custom built, and rather high spec, water-cooled and stone dead quiet PC.
The music isn't actually stored here, but on a low power and dead quiet server hidden elsewhere in the room.
I can also use this PC to play Blu-Ray movies too :eyebrows:

For anyone who might be interested, here is the water-cooling tower for the PC above. Its about half the height of the Dali's.

The Dali's dont really go very low, so....this little beauty fills the gap rather nicely. Its a BK Gemini 2 Sub-Woofer.

And finally, everything as a whole.

Very neat setup! Miles better than mine when I was a student! Regarding the dust, a quick search on here will turn up a few references to the phenomena of audiophile dust ;) I have plenty if anyone needs some :)

Very nice James, I love the diversity of the systems we get on here - (I think your water cooled PC is a first on the forum.)

Great pics James

My student system was Tensai belt drive turntable, Fisher 'studio standard' (yeah right) amp and Fisher speakers from a stack system! hardly compares does it?

Incidentally have you tried plugging the amp directly into its own wall socket and not the board? Works for me.

Thanks everyone for your comments, nice to know I am doing something right. Its still only a start though, once I graduate in 6 months time and start to pay of this silly student loan, the real upgrades will begin

Ha ha, yea. Not sure why Dali chose maroon for the colour, but who cares....they sound great

Audiophile dust, never heard of this before. I might have to do a quick search on this one...

I always used to run the amp directly from the socket where I could. Its a bit of a stretch to the socket from here, and I dread to think what the mains if like around here.

Methinks this should be the subject of a new thread - what was your college system?

I recon Audiophile dust is like the stuff in the Philip Pullman books only more, well ... Dusty
