This particular model was modified for Tom (Montesquieu) and has some very nice Mundorf Silver/Oil coupling caps (£££) and an earth lift (fitted by Guy the Manufacturer)

It comes complete in its original box with valve cage etc.

It has run flawlessly since I purchased it and has seen off a variety of competition, all of it much more expensive. I’ve tried it with various NOS valves and it responds well moving in the direction of whatever you have installed.

It can be used as a power amp; a brief play with a SJS Acadia sounded fantastic, and works particularly well with Tannoy/dual concentric type speakers.

I am having a play with some much more expensive pre/power solutions at the moment and hence my sale.

I live on the edge of the Peak District near Leek but get around a lot, I would prefer collection, or to meet at a mutually convenient place.

£1100 for a quick sale (which is a bargain for its performance) and payment by bank transfer or cash please.

Just to say to those who don't know Mike, he's fairly new here but long term active on other forums. Actually being a former Tannoy owner and with his prediliction for valves and vinyl he'd fit in nicely here too. Very knowledgeable and thorough - like quite a few people here we'lve had bits going in each direction over a number of years.

As for the amp ... this is indeed my old one, I bought it new and had some upgrades done by Guy before delivery. I rate the Puresound 2A3 very highly indeed, I found it beat pretty much all comers I put it up against for Tannoy MGs (this was with a full set of Sophia 'big globe' 2A3 valves, and Sophia 6SN7s - it does respond very well indeed to tube rolling).

People often encounter 2A3 amps as weedy little 3w SET jobs suitable really only for 100db horns etc, this 18w push-pull amp changes that preconception entirely. In terms of an amp for MGs or Quad ESLs (and quite a few more besides) I can't think of anything comparable even at the new price. At Mike's asking it's a stunning bargain. Don't let the understated looks put you off!

Sorry to interfere, but the links to your images weren't working for me. They are now. :)

Good luck with the sale.

Bump

Just to say Ive been using this over the last week and it really sets a standard of what is achievable with an integrated.
It isn't a mega watt design but sounds far more powerful than it should.

Im in Plymouth/South Devon next week to if anyone is interested...

Back from the states...lots of interest but no sale yet...

This is a good step up over most KT88 amps and with the earth lift works well with a active pre...

I'm based near Buxton if potential parties would like a listen?

Hi Mike,
This sounds pretty interesting to me and might pair well with my Klipsch Heresy III's. Is this still available please?
Thanks,
Michael

Would have been perfect with my Heresy's then! The A10 is pretty amazing anyway, but I imagine the 2A3 is another level.
Thanks for letting me know.
