Tannoy 'Oxford' Crossover - Re-Cap ?

Hi,
Does anyone have any info on the crossover that's in the Tannoy Oxford's?

I have only found one post that gives the value of the capacitor. (2.2uf)

Can anyone confirm this value...? or a circuit diagram..?

There is no value shown on the caps (see image) as the speakers are working I don't really want to disturb them until I can get replacement capacitors,

The speakers sound good, but being made in 84' I am thinking they may need changing..? Any other comments/ suggestions...

If the speakers are working fine, I'd just check the cap values and maybe replace them if dubious. Otherwise, maybe some better internal wire and a clean of the tweeter level control.

yep.. if I can confirm what the value should be then I can check and or replace. As we said yesterday about the tweeter that had stopped working, I don't want to risk blowing the new one for a few quids worth of Caps.. :)

There's a good chance the value is written on the other side of the capacitor - worth prying it free and checking. If not then Paul at Reference Fidelity Components may know - he's done a lot revamping Tannoy crossovers.

The cap I think is a 2u2 MKP or MKT and no real benefit can be had from replacing it as it is not of a design that will drift with age. You may get a slight improvement by orienting one of the coils by 90 degrees (ie cable tie it vertically mounted) as their current orientation allows cross-coupling. You mention that they sound good. I'd suggest leaving the caps well alone in that case.

There is no tweeter HF level control on the Oxfords.

It's a good few years ago, but I swear there was on mine.

Still have my Oxfords, but can't get at them at the moment, but I don't remember any tweeter level control.

I see... I have an earlier model of the oxfords... My speakers only say Oxford. The T125 Oxford is a different year. The port is in the centre of the T125s mine is on the right hand side. That may explain the tweeter control.
