Analysis of visitor metrics at AN&MR since January 2 this year has ranked the hierarchy of topics that are of most interest to our global readership. Not just in terms of their selection but also how long they keep the post open. I'm hesitant to say that this always indicates how long they spend reading a post because, of course, it might be open rather than being read. Anyway, this has suggested a few changes starting in July.

The primary driver of these changes being more materiel that can’t be read elsewhere, or in some cases not before the paper mags have got around to printing it, usually weeks later.

We will have more of:

Equipment news i.e. advance notification of releases of new equipment.http://www.hifianswers.com/tag/breaking-news/
Music new releases, both vinyl and digital http://www.hifianswers.com/category/new-release/
Vintage stuff. The increasing popularity of this really took us by surprise. http://www.hifianswers.com/tag/vintage-audio-equipment/
Interviews with makers who rarely if ever consent to being interviewed anywhere else. http://www.hifianswers.com/tag/hp-interview/

A brand new category: Industry Opinions.

Informal discussions with a number of makers points towards an industry frustration with paper magazines regarding the ability to express points of view without the implication of a quid-pro-quo re advertising. We don’t operate like that! With us they have an unrestricted fee-free platform, providing of course that what they say is legal, decent, honest and truthful. http://www.hifianswers.com/tag/industry-opinions/

We dipped our toe in the water re this re Harbeth and their views re Social media as a communication tool with Harbeth owners and other interested parties. The extent of positive visitor response was surprising.

We will have far less of:

Test review links to other publications. Interested people can Google these anyway.
Links to audiophile debates on fora. Many of the original threads have been done to death and from our perspective we have little or nothing of value to add.

That’s it – and thank you
