Read about this DIY Phono section a while back. Not a Huge Vinyl addict so of small priority.
However I Finally assembled a copy

Both schematic and photo are not mine.. merely illustrative.
Although the Schematic is ALL that I had to build from.
As parts selection is claimed as critical.. I followed the advise.. rather than trust to serendipity.

This simple parts collage is proving Really Good ! Astonishingly so.
Better sounding than most all phono sections I've yet heard (that's hardly a definitive sampling though ;)
Perfect... tonal balance and exquisitely detailed. Couldn't be better IMO
Try It ? It's only a ~25$ bom. One could do Far worse.

Loving the 'block' of 33n capacitors in the middle of the build.

Not surprised it sounds good, it's passive EQ and follows the KISS principle

Photo'd it.
Bit of a jumble assembly. Not much to look at. Happily appearance is largely unimportant.

17342.

Now that it's actually working, I'll need clean it up and fit a passable case.
Thing has significant gain ~42db.. Unsure if that will prove problematic ..as is.
As I used 7.6 mA idss 170's I tried ~19V (alkalines initially) as opposed to the 24v, subsequently a redundant viewsonic 19V Smps brick.
I can't any hear any resultant audible differences.. as yet.
Todays' (and next week) adventure is thinking up a decent box for it.
Currently going through an unloved Arcam d290 .. to wee Mark Audio full range drivers... arguably decent stuff, but Mid Fi .. at best.
No Acid Kool Aid test, by any descriptor. That said, there is valid arguement for Midi-Fi, if music is the prime purpose
Will try it on the main setup.. soon.
