Microwaved curry sauce at 100+ degrees (probably) vs human thumb...
...the thumb lost.

Nice job you did there. ;)

You know you're alive when you're in pain :). I shut my finger in the car door the other day. That had me hopping about a bit. It's still blue at the end now.

Did you stick it IMMEDIATELY under cold running water Gaz?

I keep doling out the same advice here and it still doesn't go in

Sure did Alan.
Pain was so bad though after doing just that (and after patting it dry with a towel thinking everything was ok) I was standing at the bathroom sink for literally 2ish hours under cold running water before pain was bearable.

Ended up (seriously) sticking my hand in a bag of frozen chicken fillets to keep it from overheating!
Normally takes a few hours to defrost, heat coming off my scalded hand did it in under an hour...impressive that! :)

In recent news, blister has started weeping and now its gone.

You should have rested it on a Pilau to ease the pain :)

Would post an update but its pretty gross looking!
Blisters gone, replaced by a weeping bullet-hole though.

All because I wasn't careful with burny things in the kitchen, dont try this at home folks...

Here is my amusingly shaped blister from a minor slip of a soldering iron.

Not as impressive, but a nice shape.

Not good Gary, visit to the Dr might be in order, or nurse practitioner.

Saw an Occy Health nurse at work, aside from I should have went to casualty at the time, my first aid was good apparently.
She said it looks as good as these things can be expected.

No signs of infection or anything, just need to keep being careful with it after shower etc.
Biggest pain (literally and otherwise) is forgetting its there and shoving my hand in jeans pocket.
Ouch.

Thumb looks like Nikki Lauda's left ear as it heals (Christ knows what that man went through) but my paltry thumb is getting better. :)
