I thought I’d ask if anyone had a left over part or a spare or whatever to offer …
many thanks for looking

Hi Michael. I think you may struggle to find one of these surrounds. You could try filing back any proud metal around the damage and filling depressions with car body filler, then sanding smooth and spraying silver. You'd need to do both to have them looking alike and you'd lose the Leak logo, but it is an option.

Shame is, I threw out a pair of these cabinets a couple of years ago, with surrounds on them!

tbh we almost always give away thíngs, we later regret …
… if the surrounds should be unobtainium, if will leave them as they are, I am some five years older than the speakers and also not in pristine condition.

I used to collect vintage speakers, I started off very fussy as I liked things to be as new but I gradually realised that trying to find pristine vintage speakers that I wanted could be a lifetime search, with an underlying feeling of dissatisfaction with what I had for a very long time, and learned to accept their foibles as part of their history.

You could take the surround to someone who repairs vintage cars. They might be able to repair the damage. I used to do this type of work for a living and we were asked to repair everything from a tankard to blades from a water wheel at a mill.

Im exactly the same lawrence, painfully fussy about condition. One single tiny mark on a fascia it goes up for sale.

To restore those trims might be near on impossible. The anodised finish needs to be stripped, The Knock needs to be repaired with Aluminium weld, however this better be a A1 repair because Re-Anodising will show every minute mark up on the bare aluminium before the process. Then you have the trouble of finding someone with a tank big enough as well as the initial cost. on top of that getting Leak lettering & logo re screen printed..

thanks for the input re gumtree, but tbh the speakers were damaged in transit, so getting another pair might not be a good solution …
