I need to fit an SME arm with a spacer ... the standard SME bolts are too thin (as you'd expect).

Seems a common enough scenario but I can't find what bolts to buy - anyone know the size? M2.5? I guess I need at least 30mm, bit more would be better to be on the safe side.

When you say spacer do you mean SME 'P1'?

Didn't know SME did an official one but looking at it - yes exactly like that but it came without bolts.

Looks from here as if the screws are M3 http://www.sme-audio.com/tonearm-pickup-arm-spares

EBay is good for long machine screws.

Tom

they are the M3 screws and you can buy some to suit at any decent ironmongers/fasteners shop. I'm currently fabricating a new acrylic armboard for a rare Valdi turntable as part of an arm-change and service and will be needing some custom fastenings for that and know that I can get them at my local fasteners. You'll pay through the nose buying them as "hifi" branded screws ;)

I got some, 70p from the local hardware shop complete with nuts. Otherwise I'd not have got the new plinth up and sorted :)
