very nice Phil, I've been bodging a '75 together over the last 3 weeks. I'm in the process of stripping and servicing the motor. Looks like we use the same arm as well.

Might be adjustment on that new collar as i see the original Linn collar is gone.. I much prefer the the 'GL70' to the 'GL75'

Yes me too, was actually looking for a GL75 and this came up. The arm is a Denon DA 790. Its got plenty of VTA adjustment but at its lowest still too high with the original platter hence the "stacked" platter. I know some frown on these but it was a quick fix.

That's a nice looking job Phil.

I have a Rega RP3 glass platter for use on top of the L75 platter and a spindle extender to suit. The glass platter adds a bit more mass, but not too much and it looks pretty cool! :)

Welcome to AoS and thanks for sharing pictures of your lovely Lenco.

Not a looker? It might not be 'flashy', but I beg to disagree! I think it looks FAB, the top plate is nice and clean, everything looks mint, which is important for me on vintage T/Ts, and it just ticks all the boxes, simply because it looks like a turntable should look: purposeful, not 'pretty', as it's not meant to be an ornament!! :)

Love that big chunky platter, and the vintage 'J-shaped' detachable headshell arm is right up my street, and perfect for the deck. No wonder it sounds great! My only criticism would be the cartridge, as the T/T deserves something better, in the vein of a nice low-compliance MC, such as a Denon DL-103 or Ortofon SPU.

Sort that out, and I suspect you'll have something rather special on your hands! Enjoy :cool:

I am actually using a Project platter stacked on the Lenco platter. The Project one comes with a vinyl matt bonded to it. There is a description here at Analogue Seduction:

Thanks Marco, for the comments and the advice. The AT 95E has got me started and it seems amazingly good for the money but I may take that advice when the time (and money!) for the next upgrade comes round.

Yessss..It's as good as claimed ;)
Or possibly the even higher spec stylii variants of the Venerable AT95 on offer at that site.
Note that they also sell the Stylus alone but that's cost ineffective imo.

Regardless..one would have to spend considerably larger for audible advantage.
