Hi Scott,
Yes this attachment has been around for a few years, in fact I have supplied 3 sets of Bearings to users
of the cutting attachment who have noted a considerable improvement in cutting quality. Which is to be expected when you consider that the whole process is reversed and power is now fed into the cutting stylus!!
It must surely make the standard platter/bearing jump around something awful.
However from what I understand even the SL1200 is a bit under powered to do the best of jobs with heavy LF signals.
I believe there is an attachment which can be used to augment the torque to the platter.
