Serial No 466

There’s also the equipment rack which it all fits on. Plus packing crate.

It's the last item of my late partner's kit, and I would like someone to buy it and fetch it (and the steel/glass stand it's on) from my home near Newark.

It is very heavy and needs 2 strong people to lift it. It's in very good condition and has not had a great deal of use due to my partner's long illness.

I'd be grateful to receive some offers please.

Hello Jane.

Please add a photo of this item and a price around which you'd want offers.

Thanks,
Geoff.

The list is 5700 euros...so +£4K new? As Jane not the hi-fi expert, I'm guessing, hopefully this will be a guide.
See here...http://www.enjoythemusic.com/superioraudio/equipment/1205/kraudiova340.htm
Suggest £3250 or near offer.
No idea on rack, but they don't come cheap!

Hope life gets better soon, Jane. Remember the good times, but look forward to new ones.

I know the rack cost around £300 but I'm happy to throw it in with the amp.

Am trying to get photos onto the post but having difficulty .... Will get there!

just checked with kr re age of amp. The VA 340 amplifier was made for Mr. Jim Burke (Audiolincs) on 23.09.2005. Its warranty expired on 22.09 2006.

So 5700 Euros was its original selling price in 2006. As I recall having had one in the shop I worked for back then I am pretty sure it was about the £5000 mark, maybe £5500.

Thank you gentlemen for all the information you found. Yes, the amplifier was obtained from Jim Burke. I must have forgotten when we got it and I believe Jim got it for my late partner as part of a special order...?

Grateful for any offers - I need to sell this!

a nice unit, just not really sure if the seller was lead towards realistic expectation price-wise, given the age and the version.

I shall take the best offer I'm given - and I realise that the amp may be considered worth more, but must be realistic.

Yes, I'd agree.

Jane, with respect, being realistic I'd be looking more in the region of £2500, given what Gordan's just said. Simply something to bear in mind, so that any potential buyers aren't scared off :)

Marco.

I entirely agree - not greedy. I was hoping for something in the region of £2k.

Any offers around £2,000 for this?

I have now sold all my late partner's equipment. Doubtless I could have held out for more money, but I am now able to pay off my partner's debts with £50 to spare.

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to me over the last couple of months. They have all been sympathetic and treated me fairly and honestly, which was more than I dared hope. I don't know how to say a public thank you but perhaps this might do it for me.

One respondent did say that he realised his wife might have difficulty in dealing with his kit if he passed away unexpectedly, so perhaps it might be something you guys need to ponder on...?

Once again thank you to everyone. I could not have been treated in a more sympathetic manner.

Best wishes to you all
Jane

just wishing you all the best Jane --- my mum passed away last week unexpectedly and I have some idea of what you are going through ---- it's heartening to realise there are some lovely people about and we don't live in Daily Mail land .... take care, chris
