Fantastic video, Scott. Thanks for sharing :)

Say what you like about Linn, but you can't fault the engineering quality of their products, or their fastidious attention to detail. Yes, it's not cheap, but you can partly see why. I think we should all be proud of them as a thriving and successful British hi-fi company.

No mate. Honestly they were made by greaves

I thought you might've offered them your carpenter services... ;)

Interesting little 'factoid' nonetheless.

Really interesting video. I used to be Harbeth's in house cabinet maker many moons ago and used to work closely with Greaves, they made the basic speaker cabinets and my job was to fit them out and fettle and finish them. I still have my pair of Compact 7s, in a completely non standard one off natural ash finish, I'm rather biased I suppose but they are the best sounding speakers I've ever had, glad the company is still going well.

By the way Grant, I didn't need to rob Jamie of his CA5 as he found one for me on ebay...... the phono stage made a huge difference

All it says is CA-5E which I believe was the european version, sounds great, really lifted the mid and treble

+1 to me Harbeth speakers just sound 'real' and I applaud the work of Alan Shaw, who also happens to be a real gent.

Interesting Video thanks.
Surprising similarities to a Venerable belt drive Thorens table though.
