Your calculation is wrong. There are 156 days to go to the end of the year (as of today, the 28th July). After Chrismas Eve there are 7 days to go, therefore there are 156 - 7 = 149 shopping days left.

This year can we not have a countdown to when Christmas is over? That is the best time of the year. The longest possible time before more Christmas.

No, I like it really. You have to see it through the Children's eyes blah blah. Not much use when they want you to play Top Trumps 'Terrapins' with you. Not 'Fighting Terrapins' just 'Terrapins'.
What a crock. And I have to stay at an 'inn' just like in the real Christmas. Or something.
