SOLD
Bought from Tom (of this parish) as per thread below from the other side:
http://www.hifiwigwam.com/showthread.php?75707-Interest-check-Voyd-The-Voyd-3-motor-TT-and-Audio-Note-Arm3&highlight=voyd
To summarise this is the three Pabst motor, later split-phase model , and in smart condition. Checked a while after purchase by the same expert Tom refers to, it comes with a clean bill of health. It is quiet, stable, and it makes the music sound fast, dynamic, propulsive and involving. No wonder AN bought the marque and made it their own!
The plinth is black, no dings or significant scratches, and has a clean, clear cover which has only a few light polish marks. There is no arm, there are two armboards, the better one (shown) is made for an AN or Rega fit, and there is a slightly scratched black metal armboard cut for an SME. It would be simple to get other plates made up for the deck (just a rectangular piece of steel/aluminium/wood).
The PSU has been upgraded by Nick Gorham with a larger and quieter mains transformer and a soft switching circuit of some kind, and has been installed into a heavy aluminium case with an optional Voyd lettered faceplate which I never bothered to fit that will be included. The deck also comes with the original black and red Voyd PSU case should you wish to return it to its original guise. The new case does not currently allow easy switching between 33 and 45rpm as the switch remains in the original PCB and has not been extended to the front of the new case. You have to leave the lid off to change speed as it stands. This never bothered me as I have about two 45s’ I might like to play anyway. If this is a concern it would require a hole to be drilled for a push-rod extension pole and maybe a couple for the LEDs, or alternatively I can pop the board back in the old case if preferred. To be clear: Both the speed settings and LEDs work perfectly, it is purely the current location of them inside the new case.
Also included are a few other goodies: There is a brand new spare belt as well as the current perfectly operational one, also the (near essential) tool for attaching the belt to the platter, the transit screws and the bit of foam that is used between frame and sub-frame for transit, the original baseplate, the original RCA plugs and plate that used to attach to the rear of the deck should you want to take it to completely original state, and even the original box (which is tatty and very large).
This is an excellent deck, a ‘destination’ purchase for many on here already, and they rarely come up for sale. I am selling it solely because of ergonomics. I needed something without a suspended sub-chassis as needs be it is located on the floor which limits my control of movement, and bending over fiddling with the arm each time just sets it wobbling rather. Otherwise I’d definitely be keeping it.
Also available by private negotiation is a brand new Pabst motor for this turntable. These are like hen’s teeth. It will be offered first to the purchaser, and if not required sold separately.
SOLD from W. London, I'd prefer no couriers on this, but if you want to take the risk then the box is ENORMOUS (91 x 56 x 31cm!) and I can tape it up. The box won't be any prettier afterwards mind.
