As per title, I have a mint Akurate DS in silver. This has the new Dynamik power supply. I am gutted that I have to sell this, as it's the finest source I've ever had in my system, bar none!
I bought it new in May this year, the current RRP is £3900.00 I'm looking for as much as possible, aren't we all, as I need the money desperately.
So I'm looking for as near to £3000.00 as I can get. I may even throw in my 8gb iPod Touch as well as a taster! This has SongBook and Plugplayer already installed. So that's another £230.00 worth right there.
I can ship abroad, but buyer would have to cover all costs. Please feel free to PM or ask any questions.

Ok, for anyone else who might read this, don't, please, think that these things can be matched by any old bit of sqeezbox or what ever! I have the majik ds, steve will vouch for the quality, they really do sing! And this is the next modle up! Belive me or don't belive me.. I don't care, I honestly belive there isn't a cd player out the for less than £5k that performs like one of these things! I personally belive (from experience, and in the right set up) it gets close to the likes of the naim cd555 and is better than the cd s3! Don't just be tempted, if your looking for a new source and have the money, help this chap out! You arnt going to loose anything if you sell it on anyway!
(I'd buy it if I had the money (and wasn't upgrading my amp etc)
Thanks for that Hamish, I appreciate the endorsement. I would, obviously, agree with you. There is not much better than this, apart from a Klimax DS. I can't beleive I'm selling it either. If I can sort something out, then it's staying, but unless I win the lottery, which is doubtful as I don't gamble, then it's going. I suppose getting out of debt is more important...... isn't it?

I'm sure once you are out of debt the peace of mind will make up for the loss of the ds! And the great thing about stuff is that it can be bought agian when situation allows! could you aford to keep a majik ds or a sneaky?the sneaky has a built in amp and sounds pretty good for what it is!

Klimax ds surpasses the cd555!! And it's smaller and cheapes than the cd555!
Have you seen the special editon klimax ds? It's black and has some linn blokes signature on it... Cost 2k more I think, how bloody barmy!

The Majik DS is stunning and is up there with 5k CD players so the Akurate (I've not heard it) will be in Nagra/dCS/Esoteric territory.
Thanks to all for the positive reviews.
Can I ask though. Am I in the right ballpark price wise? Am I being too ambitious? I think it's worth it, but I would. Please let me know what you think.

It's a good move in my books, CDs are shit! All easy to scratch etc ... If these big hifi companies make enough effort hopfully the record lables will start releasing hires download in the same way the linn lable does, or even better. If it was possible to download in a veriety of formats at relative prices I'd be most chuffed! 1 album - £5 in mp3, £10 in cd standard flac and £15 for 24/96 where available. Then once you have bought it, the licence is always available to you so you could re download if the data was lost! ... It's the future, I'm telling ya!!

I doubt any of the download companies agree with this - if you lose the data then it's tough as far as they're concerned. You'll need to pay again to download the stuff you've lost. Which is pretty shitty to say the least !

I actually looked at my finances today, but in my current situation it would be a big gamble... Also if it was a black one it would be no fuss ... The missis would probably never even notice!!

No worries Hamish. I might have changed my mind and keep hold of it! The bank has just sent me a letter with the £35.00 bank charges. I only went over the limit for about an hour.... I'll see if I can get them to give it me back. Nowt like kickin' ya when your down! Ah well, at least I can 'look' at my DS for a while yet. :doh:
