This Thorens was meant as a distraction whilst I got my valve amps modified and repaired. I've completely restored and rebuilt this unit.
The plinth was replaced.
You now have the choice of SME or Rega armboards
New Thakker belt installed (I'll include the old one)
New upgraded thrust plate added
Bearing stripped and ultrasonically cleaned.
Baseboard removed and replaced with 10mm (I think) MDF. (The original will be included)
Platter choice or the original or a TD145 replacedment (I will include both).
The springs and rubbers have been cleaned extensively and the springs and nuts have been ultrasonically cleaned.
The bearing housing has been cleaned with old oil removed and replaced with fresh.
The switch has been dismantled and cleaned with de-oxit.
The wiring has been reconfigured so as to to put strain on the press metal chasis.
The top plate has been dampened with Dynamat.
Every screw/nut/bolt/washer has been ultrasonically cleaned and hand polished.
Plug has been replaced with silver plated plug and silver plated fuse.
This machine is upto TD160 super levels and beyond. This machine runs spot on 33.3rpm. The full restoration can be found here. I don't think I could do any more to this machine.
