Hello from the Silicon Valley

Hi,

I stumbled upon this site while researching Nottingham Hyperspace turntables. Time for a TT upgrade.

I live in Los Gatos, California - the South Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.


Current equipment

Sota Saphire (non vacuum) - original owner from the mid 1980's
Eminent Technology air bearing arm - original owner from the mid 1980's
Shelter 901 mark 3

Wavestream Kinetics phono preamp
Wavestream Kinetics line preamp
MFA 200B monoblocks (yes, following Scott Franklin's gear; the infamous "The Analog Room" is a mere 10 minute drive from my house....service is quite convenient)

Sony cdp 779es transport
Looking for a DAC - leaning toward a Lampizator big 7

Magneplanar 1.7s


I am a piano hack (classical and jazz) so I will will include my Yamaha UX3 and Yamaha MO8.


Hope to learn more about turntables, in particular, from fellow "donut heads"!
