Hello,

I am a middle aged man working in the social care sector as a night support worker.

I like to listen to what is loosely termed as 'classical' - opera and lieder in particular - as well as contemporary composers such as Rihm and Levinas.

I have a fairly modest hi-fi set up but it is also the best I have owned. I consider myself fortunate to be in a position to have such luxuries.

My main system is built around a Rega RP3/Elys 24 Turntable [Rega TTP + Rega Fono Mk1] into Cyrus 8vs2 and 8 Power driving Spendor S3e speakers. I also use an Audiolab M-Dac connected with a Pioneer PDR603 as a transport for CDs.

Cinema is important to me too, so I have a Pioneer BDP450 BD player [Region A/1-8 DVD]and a Sony BDP S780 [Region B/1-8 DVD].

Bedside set up is a Marantz CD6004 and MacBook Pro connected to a Beresford Caiman Mk II TC7534 SFW3 feeding a Lehmann Rhinelander headphone amplifier which I use either with Grado SR80s or 325i.

I find i am spending more time on the cans nowadays and any upgrades or new magic boxes will be in that area.

Anyway, I enjoy learning and reading about other people's experiences with music and Hi-fi.

Thank you.

Welcome to AOS John.

You may call your system modest, but it's nice gear and well chosen.

There's plenty of interest in headphones here. If you have any questions or ideas, just start a thread in the Artist's Pallete section. I'm sure you'll get replies.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hi John

Welcome to the forum. That is quite a tasty system you've built up. A good Hi-fi is indeed a luxury we should appreciate and not take for granted.

Welcome to AoS John

Reading what you have been watching and reading, you seem to have refreshingly 'different' tastes. I like that! :)
