Please correct me if i'm wrong. Did the UK make a finanicial contribution to being entered into the Eurovision 2016? Does anyone have an idea how much we paid or indeed who paid the contribution? Considering we always finish last, does it not make sense to spend the money elsewhere?

It s a bit misleading. Its actually the EBU that the UK and all the rest contribute towards

They do at least do a few more useful things than the song contest. Though DAB is not one of their finest.

Here are some historic FOI numbers

A quarter of a million plus change every year. What a scam that is.

Less than half of Graham Norton's salary. I expect Eurovision generates a lot of business for pubs and club up and down the land.

Oh well that's okay then.

Admit it, it's just another trough full of our money for some tossers who basically do jack shit to gourge themselves at.

It's a lot of silly nonsense that I would willingly never see again, but no more so than, say, Association Football or snooker. And I bet we pay a lot more for those than we do for Eurovision.

At least with the football and the snooker you get to see some skill and talent on display.

Twas always a political vote and nothing to do with the songs, if you can call the majority that. Which country do we want to pat on back and show solidarity...ie want something from etc.... Some of the winners were absolutely shocking.

I thought the standard of songs better this year, but since when did Australia become part of Europe ? The Australian entry was pretty good as was Bulgaria's.

I watched Eurovision once. I'd rather slam my tackle in a car door than watch it again...:mental:

I think I'd endure watching it myself. :)

Given that choice I would also try to make the best of it. Tough one, though.
