As per title I am after a some bits for a Mission 774.

1: the largest (thickest) paddle

2: the red plug/board ( male ) for the tonearm cable that fits under the arm mounting plate

3: the extra counterweight ring ( slips over existing weight ) for heavier cartridges

4: the metal counterweight ( have the sorbo one already )

5: a bias weight

If anyone has any of these lying around in a drawer doing nothing then I can make use of them ;)

Thanks.

You can make your own paddles

http://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=10280

Get Geoff to give you the dimensions of the bias weight as these are only made out of wood. You can stack them as well so a pair is handy

Audio Origami can supply the Mass Ring for the counterbalance weight

I was thinking of making some from Paxolin once I get the workshop up and running again.

I already make the paddles.

Hi,

I'd buy a paddle from you, it's the thickest one I need for the Orto cart I think. I have 2 thin ones but be a lot easier and neater with the right thickness ;)

I have one bias weight and it is right at the end, which looking at the manual is fine, but I would like a second so I could move them to the middle of the pivot as per manual, why, dunno just looks right lol.

You won't need the thick paddle. The thinnest size is fine. Remember, this was my Ortofon MC for a while and I was using it in a 774, so I know what works with it. What damping fluid are you using?

Ok, I was going by the spec for the cart and what the manual said.

Ali gave me a bottle of the Malvern Audio fluid. I'll go and fit the small paddle and wait on what you say about amount of fluid ;)

I don't know the viscosity of the fluid you have, but with the small paddle I'd suggest having the 'L' tip just submerged when the stylus is on the record.

If you suspect the fluid is too thick it can be thinned with fine silicone oil. I use this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silicone-Lubricant-Spray-lubricates-waterproofs-prevents-friction-Sticking-/161585178740?var=&hash=item259f3a2874:m:memd8oSvc47h8mgg65t8AUQ

Obviously, don't spray it directly into the well or you get a mess.

Thanks, I'll have to wait as I don't have a small enough key for the grub screw.

The bottle says Medium Damping Silicon Oil ?

The bottle says Medium Damping Silicon Oil ?

That could mean anything really. It's just their determination of what is 'medium'.

I use STP petrol oil treatment. It's a thick silicone oil and works just fine. Less than a fiver, for enough to last a lifetime! This: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STP-60300En12-Petrol-Oil-Treatment-300ml-/272148613459?hash=item3f5d524953:g:z-sAAOSwkNZUdA1S

Speedysteve can make you new counterweights and bias weights.
Is the red phono plug the same as the one use on a Hadcock?

Here's a pic of a Hadcock 242 in this link

If it is, you could call them and pay for a spare.

Yeah that's the one, I meant female side doh but will contact them anyway as I'm sure they'll have those too.

Thanks.

Alternatively, just send the arm to J7 at Audio Origami and he will fix it including the missing connector.

I was thinking that too, it's fine just now but my soldering is crap, mind you only my second attempt lol.

I have a spare arm I might send to Johnnie as it needs new tags
