As any fule kno the Nineteen Seventies was the greatest decade for classic rock albums

But what are your recommendations for classics post 1990?

Here's a couple I think are worthy of classic status:

Foo Fighters: There Is Nothing Left To Lose

http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac233/Macca_photos_2009/foo%20fighters.jpg (http://s903.photobucket.com/user/Macca_photos_2009/media/foo%20fighters.jpg.html)

Not that keen on them generally but this one from 2003 is a corker - my manager at the time was a friend of Dave Grohl so I was able to convey my approval via her. Probably what spurred him on...

And this one :

Primal Scream: Give Out But Don't Give Up

http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac233/Macca_photos_2009/primal%20scream.png (http://s903.photobucket.com/user/Macca_photos_2009/media/primal%20scream.png.html)

The best album the Rolling Stones never made - not popular with a lot of the fans when it came out, old school rock and roll being out of fashion and that, but I think this has stood the test of time. And it has George Clinton on it.

Simple Minds 'Good News From The Next World' 1995. Truly a great album, not a dud track on it. Tremendous stuff.

Bit of an obvious choice being a "supergroup" but the first Chickenfoot album is royally good.

Ah, miss read that, when you talked about the 70's I automatically jumped to the 80s.

I will edit accordingly.

Classic rock implies overdriven guitars which all but faded in the 90s....ummm......good challenge!

Initially I was struggling with this but now I've given it some consideration it seems post-1990 was actually a good time that continues today rather than the barren wasteland it may first appear to be.

Although a little cliched this is a great rock album.

Never listened to this back in the day but this album has epic riffs and is just so heavy.

Maybe considered to be on the fringe of classic rock but the first offerring from the Welsh trio is packed full of well written songs that you'll want to hear over again.

Great riffing, driving bass and impressive overdrive on 'No Alohah', all on an album from a band I'd never even heard of until I met my Mrs.

Claudio Sanchez is a modern day Jimmy Page yet features so little in the rock community and whilst his vocals are pretty much Marmite this is an instant classic - cracking live band too.

Iommi and Hughes doing what they do - nothing else to say about this one really other that I love it.

Like the Stereophonics this album skirts the classic rock line but firmly crosses it in enough places for consideration.

Bang up to date with the Strypes and these guys have the dna of pure classic rock.

That is just a starter... Pearl Jam - Ten, Nirvana - Nevermind, Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream, Green Day - American Idiot

This one just gets in under the wire - Neil Young And Crazy Horse: Ragged Glory (1990)

http://i903.photobucket.com/albums/ac233/Macca_photos_2009/ragged%20glory.png (http://s903.photobucket.com/user/Macca_photos_2009/media/ragged%20glory.png.html)

My mate bought this the day it came out and brought it round mine for a listen. We both agreed a verdict of 'f**kin ace'.
It was a particular good era for Mr Young, ruined by Snooze With Angels a couple of years later.

Aye it's a corker. Just the sound of a great live band jamming out in a barn. Fab

Might be a tad too heavy for this thread, but this always sounded pretty classic in nature to my ears.

Then there's always the very special Mr K to consider :
