This has been my main deck for the last couple of years. Now for sale only because I was offered a Mk5 at a good price so I decided to 'upgrade' although there is very little difference in real terms.

I used this with an SME arm but it has now been returned to standard form as per the pictures below. The standard arm has been carefully stored and has now been refitted. It is supplied with an original Technics headshell and a Stanton 505-V3 that it came to me with. The stylus plays OK but I don't know how old it is. If this cartridge doesn't suit and that's a deal breaker for you, I have numerous other MM offerings in my drawers including the ubiquitous Shure M44-7 that is so popular on the standard arm so I'm sure we can work something out.
It is supplied with a genuine lift off lid (I'm afraid I nicked the hinges for my mk5 which are supplied without them). For frequent use (and less pokey children) the lift off lid is a lot more convenient anyway. Genuine hinges and mounting kits are available cheaply on ebay if required.
It comes with the pictured slip mat. I don't have a rubber original I'm afraid.
Fully working. Speed is stable and lock holds with no issues on both 33 and 45. Pitch slider is smooth with no jumps in speed. Target light and strobe LEDs working. Arm bearings feel fine to my untrained fingers. Arm height adjustment working.
Cosmetically is is very good (particularly compared with a lot out there). There are few chips in the paint along the right hand edge of the top chassis plate / plinth and also where the hinges were on the rear but it looks very respectable.
The lid is solid and undamaged but has numerous light scratches. It comes with the rubber bumpers from the Mk5 so it doesn't damage the deck.
The rubber outer base has been cut around the tonearm cable exit to facilitate the fitting of the SME arm that I used on here. Obviously doesn't notice unless you are, for some reason, underneath it. There is no structural / audible effect of this enlarged apparture!
£300 seems to be reasonable price for a Mk2 these days so that's what I'm asking. Should you happen to have a Sugden AU51 DAC or AU51 Mk2 Phono stage, I'd happily do a swap. Might consider another decent MM phono stage but it would have to be a nice one.
