Posted a while back I was servicing 3 of my Brothers 1210's, had been in storage for years after getting a severe kicking on the DJ circuit.

Been working away, two of them done one more to go.
Full cleanup, New Van Damme interconnects and better power leads, new tonearms fitted and all sounding good.
Third ones a bugger, not powering up.

Opened it up and took the meter to it, receiving AC on the power board ok, but nothings live after that.
First stop is to open it up properly and check the power switch, after that its uncharted territory.
Rather have a go myself as I'll learn in the process, and its a lot cheaper than handing it in somewhere!

Whats a good troubleshooting method for the Techie when its not powering up?
(I've checked the internal glass fuses and they are ok)

Thanks Chaps.

You could probably buy a new on/off switch for ebay for less than £20.

You could also bypass the switch.

If you have voltage arriving at the switch, and nothing after it, then it would suggest that the switch is goosed.
Bypassing the switch would at least allow you to see if there is anything more sinister lurking.
