Lovely looking deck ! - now if the Techie 12XX came in a plinth like that and black for the 1210 !! - Mama !!! :stalks:
Whereabouts in East Sussex Rob? My FiL may well be interested in this (he's in Newhaven) when I know what you want for it.
I'm in Hailsham - was thinking in region of £275; talk to me!

You'll be wanting an SP10 in a custom plinth then, Robbie ...
What's the platter bearing like? Is there any play?
These turntables can suffer with excessive slop In the platter bearing.
To check remove the belt and outer platter and rock the inner platter from side to side.
Platter bearing seems fine - no noise, no "slop" - but you're welcome to check for yourself if interested
That's a gorgeous looking T/T, Rob. Classically simple, yet elegant! Plus, in its day, it was always rather fine sounding. If someone getting back into vinyl was looking for a starter T/T, or anyone else was looking for a quality T/T for not much money, it would be perfect.
Good luck with the sale!
Marco.

I can vouch for the quality of these, as I have one.
£275 is a bargain.

Will have a word with my FIL and see what his plans are - this was my first serious TT (exactly the same setup even down to the cart! - Used to be in Sussex... I wonder...)

Thanks very much, Marco - it certainly sounds pretty good to me. If I didn't have the deck I already own, it wouldn't be up for sale - it's a lot of deck with potential to tweak it even further; it just needs to find a new home!
Just buy a Pioneer PL-71 ;)

Turncoat! You needs a Technics, innit!

Thanks Jason - confirm PM received & replied.
The deck was owned by my wife's late uncle - he lived in Christchurch (Dorset) and likely bought it brand new - sorry!

I don't know much about this AR model, as I own an original XA.
Having a separate arm must help, although the XA's arm is better than it looks...

I had one of these, superb sounding TT and very well made indeed. Only issue I had was a real susceptibility to footfall, a nightmare with kids but to be fair an issue with many suspended TT's if not on an isolated shelf. Mine was boxed with original manual etc and went for £250 ish a few years ago as a guide.

I had one back in the late 80's with a Mission arm. Very nice. Agree about the isolation requirement, definitely will benefit from a wall shelf.
I'm sure whoever buys this will be very happy with it.

How on earth is this still here...the arm and cart would be a good £185 on their own so the tt is under a ton....one of the best suspension tt's out there....I used one of these for a while which belonged to wee tam..(Tommy)...If I didn't have my Logic DM101...I'd have this in a snap...That cart is a musical piece of fun...astonished it isn't gone...bump up the post...
Thanks for the bump, Alan
Apologies for reviving an old post, but this turntable attracted precisely zero bids; it's now on eBay, but if any of you guys want it ... PM me, please
it might help to put photos of the turntable in your ebay listing :)
