Hi all.

Been having a bit of a tidy and thought this might be useful to someone here.

It's a QED MA28 CD Switching unit.

I've never actually used it as I bought it from a friend a while back but it works fine and in great condition.

I'm asking £20 inc. post. Open to offers.

Paypal gifty please.

As far as I know it adds another line input to your pre-amp.

I've included an instruction diagram at the bottom of this listing.

Now £20 including post. A useful little thang.

at the risk of sounding daft, what does it do?

Andre found this for me on the net which may shine a light on things. Thanks.

This accessory adds another line input to your integrated amp receiver or preamp. Here’s how it might work in your system:

1) Run interconnects from say your tuner to the MA28’s inputs that are marked ‘BYPASS’.

2) Run interconnects from an extra component for example a 2nd CDP to the MA28’s inputs that are marked ‘CD’.

3) Run interconnects from the MA28’s outputs that are marked “AMPLIFIER” to your integrated receiver or preamp's TUNER input.

Use the MA28 to switch back and forth between your tuner and 2nd CDP.

This is a British convoluted design but does the trick; it’s really rather simple once you figure it out. Of course you don’t have to use it exactly as I’ve suggested above—but hopefully this will give you an idea of how the unit can be used.

In case you’re curious I have no idea why there is a fourth set of RCAs marked “ NO CONNECTION”(!). More British quirkiness I suspect… (how very dare he) lol

will this work to switch one turntable output into two preamps?
if yes, I am interested

Yes but the case looks plastic so you might suffer a bit of hum pickup depending on your kit.
Turntable would need to be connected to the Amplifier sockets, then the two preamps to 'Bypass' and 'CD' :)

How would it run two preamps when it only has one set of outputs?

You use the output as the input, then conversely you have two outputs rather than two inputs. :)

It's only a switch.

Now sold to Michael. :)

Many thanks.
