View Full Version : Clyde 1 Superscoreboard phone-in
Was listening to the football phone-in on on Clyde 1 on Saturday when a certain Marco from Wrexham came on...Anyone we know perchance??
Hahaha... Did you catch it? :D
Hadn't done that for years, so fancied having a go again! :eyebrows:
Marco.

Thought so :-) Been listening to Superscoreboard since the early days of James Sanderson, Richard Park, Paul Cooney etc. Can't shake it, keeps me sane now I live abroad. May phone in one day... Long live Hugh Keevins and Big DJ...

Same here, mate. Jimmy Sanderson was a topper... "Were you at the game, caller?" "Are you accusing me of mendacity"? Ah, those were the days!
Moving down to Wales, from Glasgow, and not being able to tune into the show on the radio, I forgot about it for ages. Then I discovered the Clyde 1 website and live streaming from the studio, so after watching the show, I decided, just for a giggle, to give the panel a call!
So, did you like the pish I was coming out with? Perhaps not, as you're a Rangers fan! :D
Marco.
James Sanderson was a total legend...his one-liners were quality..."Bunkum and balderdash...I've travelled the world with Jock Stein, showered with Kenny Dalglish..." was the Naked video take-off aired moons ago...
No beef at all with your comments- they concerned issues in the East-end and were fair enough. ;-) I do think however that neither team (esp Rangers) can return to the big money signings while the financial climate remains. TV deals HAVE to improve and spending big when European qualification is no longer guaranteed could put teams deep in the merda... Meanwhile I'm looking forward to next season, should be very interesting indeed!
Absolutely. From a Celtic perspective, your team's presence in the SPL has been missed. There's no doubt that Rangers being back to where they belong will help Celtic on various levels, not least of which is the reintroduction of the 'Old Firm' league derby, which fans and players alike will revel in! :)
Let's hope that Hibs can make it up too, as IMO, for maximum entertainment and value, the SPL should always have Hearts, Hibs and Rangers in it.
Marco.
Have my doubts Hibs will be there. Dundee utd, another stalwart, are gone too, unless a quick reformation of the leagues is on cards to save pals;)
With Falkirk and St Mirren plus Dunfermline in that league possibly then it may be difficult to see all the bigger sides ever in there again. Thats not taking into account any more financial calamities etc. Getting a big tv deal is going to be near impossible in current climate. Ourcsides just dont do well enough, and camera positions are poor so the game looks like Sunday fitba!
