Just get hands on this Pioneer PL-100 turntable with ADC headshell and Ortofon VMS20E MKII cartridge. Stylus looks OK by looking with bare eye.

I got this from colleague who has it stored in attic for many years. Probably 15+
The condition is not bad. There is some rust showing on tonearm and screws. But mainly is damaged by dust only. Drive belt is missing as far as I can see from outside and the power plug was removed.
Cover is the worst part. It has some deep scratches and some burn/melt marks. Looks like something hot was dropped on top?!?

Anyone here would be interested in this nice piece from 80's? At this condition or maybe I can try and restore to fully working order and bring it back to life :)
What you think, worth to spend some time on it?

Have some fun and restore it, it's very rewarding work, why not do a thread?

Maybe the power lead and/or other cables were left on top and you a have a little plasticiser migration giving those 'burn' marks.
Looks like a worthwhile project though.

I've only ever done 4 in my life a Garrard 301, a Technics 1210, a Thorens TD160 and a Linn Sondek LP12, all very different. Once you start it's quite easy, you might surprise yourself. Additionally, there are lots of experienced people on this forum so there's always someone that will help you.

My FiL has the PL200 - it's the direct drive version of this. Not a bad little deck - the only issue is setting arm height as it's a bit 'arse down' with the AT95 on it, sounds better with the mat off (instant VTA adjustment) but a good deck nonetheless.

Keep the Ortofon! It is one of the best regarded carts from this maker, specially if it has the original stylus.

yes, all is original and intact. I have cleaned it and tested. All is working fine, just the belt is missing. I have fitted temporary one and tried to play an old record. It plays fine, strobe is working, etc..
Just the speed was not constant but thats was due to a wrong belt, so no right tension etc. Also the arm would req a proper setup

So it may be a gem for someone
