Hello

Bought a pair of these today for a stupidly cheap price but they sound  Very good indeed they dont go for much but sound quality wise their up their with the big contenders :D

Just playing some translucent trance through the Nytech CTA 252 XDII & Yamaha CDX 860 CD Player :gig::rave:

Thats all for now starting to not be able to enter the main room of the house due to HI-FI :doh::eyebrows:

They were my first "proper" speakers, back in the mid 80s. I thought they sounded very good on the end of my Cyrus 1. I seem to remember that I had a problem with them blowing tweeters, though.

I had a pair of these Dan, great with Rock music but they were sold and replaced with Spendor SP2's which were a lot more refined.

Good speakers though and could take some abuse!

Faulty pair? I had them on last night and it would take a lot to make the tweeters go?

Hi James

Yes indeed sounded good last night just putting them on now for another run then will pack them away with the 10 other pairs i have laying about this place....

I take it you still own the SP'2's? I can see a pair on your signature?

Yes still have the SP2s - stunning imaging and midrange. They portray vocals and instrumental tonal quality unlike any modern speaker I have heard. Never see any come up second hand.

I have a pair of SP1's on my radar but would like to get something with bigger scale and dynamics eventually?

Problem with a lot of modern speakers is they are all bass and tizz!
