Multi room from main system

Hi all. I am planning to run some speaker cable from my main system through to the kitchen via a speaker switch box. The speakers in the living room have a different impedance to those that will be used in the kitchen. Is this going to be problematic? My system is as follows...

Rega Brio r (50w per channel)
Living room speakers Rega rs1 (sensitivity 90db, impedance 8ohm)
Kitchen speakers wharfedale diamond 9.0 (sensitivity 86db, impedance 6ohm)

Simple answer no.

Complex answer, as with any amplifier and multiple speakers, is not to go below the rated output impedance capability of the amp.
The Brio has a specified rating at 4 ohms, if you connected the two sets of speakers in parallel to the amplifier output (one across the other) the amplifier would see 3.4 ohms.

This would be OK providing you didn't cane it. As an example if you connected two sets of 4 ohm speakers in parallel this would be a load of 2 ohms, definitely a no-no.

I have multiple pairs of speakers around the property (including outside) so the switch box I use connects them in a series/parallel way so that the impedance doesn't drop too much.

Thanks, Alan. I will only very rarely have both sets of speakers running at the same time so I think I will be fine. It might even be an excuse to buy another set of speakers!
