I've been a big fan of the Switchcraft rca plugs for a while now, and in conjunction with Klotz MC5000 cable, they are doing a great job in my system. However, I've been wondering about trying the (similar, but different) Belden 8402 cable for a while now, ever since reading about it here ...

There's quite a few people on forums praising it. I think the differences to the Klotz are: tinned wires; rubber insulation; and also the advice to terminate the shield at both ends. Anyone tried it?

Hi Peter,

I'm looking at the same cable, and I also only ever use the Switchcraft Rca's.
I read the same article - and have been searching for a supplier so I can order some up and give them a try. I may be wrong but I can only see usa / ebay sellers for the cable - let me know if you've found any in the U.k !! I've used van damme pro grade classic XKE ( surprisingly good ) - and am currently using evidence audio monorail between my passive pre - Beresford Caiman II - to my heavily modified Naim NAP180.

Do let me know if you've had a chance to make up some rca's with the Belden 8402 - very interested in your opinion. Lastly, I have also been using Sonic Wave Eutectic solder, which is superb - Especially with the all nickel plated Switchcraft rca's. ( I'll struggle to explain technically the reason why ?..!!" ).

Thank you Peter, will let you know if I source some of the cable, if still of interest. All the best, Steve.

Do you fancy doing a group buy or going halves on the price? You can pickup 4m from Amazon for about £75 I only need two meters for an experiment.
