I recognise that some people will say that there is no such thing as a good version of Ummagumma - but I like the album and have two copies on vinyl. Ummagumma brings back happy memories ;)

I also accept that some people will say that there is no such thing as a good CD - c'est la vie.

I have seen two versions on Amazon - one at £6.97 and a version described as "Discovery Edition - 2011 - Original Recording Remastered" at £14.99. Does anyone have any knowledge of both and in what way might the "Discovery Edition" be worth the extra dosh?

Thanks

http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/pink-floyd-2011-remasters-which-are-the-biggest-improvement.264720/Thanks for that although as it happens, the poll does seem to be particularly pointless. It is not clear if it applies to Vinyl or CD ("remastered discs") and the fact that 12 people have said that Ummagumma is an improvement it doesn't allow for people who say it is no different or worse.

Thanks anyhow ;)

edited - I have just found the official Pink Floyd site (http://euroshop.pinkfloyd.com/uk/music/cd.html) and see that the remastered version of Ummagumma is in fact on CD - also it is cheaper there than on Amazon!

Still no explanation as to what the "remaster" involved?
