View Full Version : Good morning
Just a quick hello from someone that has been into Hi Fi for the last 50 years. My system is very much old school, but best sound. It comprises a computer based player, Stevens and Billington passive pre, EAR 861 power amp into a pair of Hedlund Horns fitted with DX4 drivers.
I love any music apart from jazz, and in particular Irish. If it makes my foot tap or want to sing along then its good (unlike my singing!).

Hello Chris. Welcome to AOS.
Dunno about your computer music source, but your choice of amplification and speakers must sound very nice.
Sounds like you've been messing about with Hi-Fi about as long as me and a few others here.
Tell us if you have any further plans for your system.
Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Thanks Grant :)
I have mentioned elsewhere that I have ordered two boxes from SW1X, The Signature DAC and Signature USB to SPDIF converter. I have also just installed a Moondog Audio dedicated power supply to the Raspberry Pi, this gets rid of the standard switched mode power supply and is hugely worthwhile.
Thanks Grant :)
welcome, and welcome to aos Chris. I do hope you enjoy your time here
Hi from me, Chris. Those speakers look to be worth a listen. I'm guessing you have done the lot over fifty years?

Yep, I've owned some very different stuff.
Speakers from B&W, Snell, Impulse, Yamaha NS1000Ms, and a variety of Lowther horns from Acoustas through Medallions and on to Hedlunds.
Sources from Thorens, Linn, Counterpoint CD and on to computer based stuff
Amps from Cambridge, Sugden, Naim, Mcintosh, Audio Innovations, Audionote through to EAR
