A few little marks on it through normal use but as seen in photos nothing major.
Thanks for looking,
Mike.
Damn, autocorrect on spelling, it's obviously Audio Technica not Technics!
Can a mod please correct my title.
Thanks,
Mike.
Done that Mike
Thanks,
Grant, can you PM me your home address, I have a wee pressie to send you ;)
Mike.
This is still for sale if anyone is interested?
Hi Mike,
Did you buy this second-hand, as that's not the stock finger lift? The stock one is black, and much shorter.
Marco.

Yeah second hand, seller said it was original and that the lift was the first version they did hence the different lift.
Was he telling porkies?
Useful for those with fat fingers ;)
Actually I see what's been done with it.
It's a later version Headshell with an older lift fitted. Here is one in Japan for sale, spot the difference?

So it looks like lift is genuine, just meant for different version of the MG 10 ?
I strongly suspect so, Mike, as I've been buying those headshells since the 80s, and they've always had a short, stubby, black finger lift to match the paint finish of the headshell.
My suspicion is that the previous owner lost the original finger lift and fitted the current one. However, that doesn't detract from its usefulness as a quality headshell, although £25 may be a trifle optimistic ;)
If it were me, I'd shave at least a fiver off of that, if you want it to sell.
Marco.
Just read your last post. You could be right, although I've never seen one with a long, silver, finger lift. However, as you've pointed out, it's still a bit of a 'marriage', as they say in the antiques business, and therefore not original, so the price should reflect that :)

I had the later one of these... superb headshells.

So rare then, the price stays lol
I'm open to offers in all honesty as I don't need it anymore and never even got to try it as I now use the 774 arm

A certain forum owner recommended them, so I bought one, never got the chance to use it though :(

Looks like it is screwed on properly to me...but is the earlier finger lift...as shown by Mike..I think you're being rather pedantic Marco :ner: ...you is a bad man...:whippin:
There is also a slight difference in the Headshell too, but it's definitely an MG10.
I hope no one thinks I've been misleading in trying to sell this as is, I bought it this way and thought it was kosher. Any info I've added today has been found by googling since Marco's post.

All joking aside..it is a very well established shell..and very popular too...and worth £25.00 all day long...If it hadn't been the captivated type...I'd have had it myself..

I bought it then realised I couldn't fit my Zu Denon 103 to it doh!
I nearly drilled it out, but bought Ali's 774 arm instead and drilled that out, was MUCH cheaper [emoji5]

Lol - you've sussed me! :D
Not..... :eyebrows:
I was simply pointing something out, which I felt was relevant and may have been holding back the sale. In any case, you've had some free bumps! GLWTS
Marco.

Yeah no worries. Fully appreciate your help I'm a complete noob in hi-fi terms having gone over to AV gear and surround sound over the last few years, this is my first real hi-fi system in over 25 years, my last hi-fi was a Marantz cd52se cd player with Rotel 921 amp, A&R 18 speakers, now look at me, spent £1000's and spent countless hours on bloody forums, and loving every minute of it [emoji1] [emoji1] [emoji1]
Still have the CD player and amp lol
