Hi all, some of you I know from elsewhere and those will know me. Getting a little tired of the bully boys there so need a fresh start. I promise to be nice and expect the same from others.

Welcome from me Paul.

I don't think we have a problem with bullying, I've been here a while now and no-one has demanded my lunch money yet.

What's your kit and music tastes?

Haha, I think it's on a downward spiral Al, recently a decent chap said he was leaving and was slagged off something terrible by the usual suspects without a word from the mods.

Music taste, that's a tough one, from LED zep to some classical and anything in between with the exception of most punk. Most of it doesn't sound good no matter the quality of the kit.
Current kit in my dedicated treated room is, PX25 monoblocks, 300B, fed from Najda dsp into DIY speakers.
Streaming Spotify from elite book into the Najda, Denon DVD sacd player and soon to be completed Denon DP80 turntable. Recently sold my 401 and lenco ptp.

Nice to know you are here too Jerry,

7,245 posts. :) Well, 7,246 with this one!

You'll like it here, I'm sure - the occasional spat, inevitably, but very civilised and decent the vast majority of the time.

Lots of DIY nutters :mental: - you'll fit in well.

Hello Paul. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure you'll be happy here. We make an effort to keep things friendly and relatively sensible (but not necessarily entirely :D).

When I saw your turntable post, it dawned in me I'd seen it over on LH, looks good. I pop over there to gen up on my Lenco stuff.

Have fun and enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

I do have a wood lathe but I used my metal lathe to turn the legs as it's far more accurate than my wood turning skills can achieve.
I also spend some time on lenco heaven, it's friendly but not much posting going on. I guess they are too busy enjoying music. Perish the thought.

my current speakers I built some years back and still get used in between those urges to try something different. CSS FR125 wide range driver in bass reflex cabinet I designed myself, with aurum cantus G2 ribbons bi-amped through najda.

Sorry Martin your post slipped through the net. Yes, I have rear speakers for the occasional film ceiling mounted as the room is so small I couldn't possibly have them behind me but they are very effective. Very simple set up of Denon DVD player with analogue audio out for front speakers through the main kit and rear speakers from surround out into a mistral 307D 25w valve hybrid amp into wall mounted speaker terminals.
