My wife and I will be relocating to Laos this summer (August) to setup a children's charity as well as teach English & American (I'm a Yank). We will need to buy a secondhand 4x4 truck in order to reach rural Highland villages so I am selling all of my high end gear.

For your consideration:

EAR V12 integrated, bought new last year from Jordan Acoustics for just over £7k as a Christmas pressie from me to me, so 3 months old. Amazing sounding amp that I was sorely thinking of keeping but needs must, I would like £5200.

Buyers are welcome to view and audition in Goring by Sea, Worthing. I have all of the original packaging and paperwork so shipping is possible at buyer's expense but I would prefer collection.

It is a beautiful bit of kit and sounds amazing as well. I'll miss it but I can't drive it in the mountains of Laos during the rainy season! :)

Thanks for the kind words Grant.

After we spent 2.5 months in SE Asia last year and saw the abject poverty that rural people live in, my wife and I felt compelled to do something to help, so we are in the process of setting up a children's charity to help remote rural Highland families and villages in Laos. Whilst way outside of our comfort zone it is an amazing opportunity to help people on a small scale while we are still young and able enough to do so.

That is a thing of beauty.

I've just done something messy.

If I had the money...

Hope all goes well in Laos - sounds like a proper adventure, good on you for taking it on.

Tom (montesquieu) had one of these - it looked and sounded amazing!

I think that was the V20, Jerry ... I also owned one of those, and my wife still asks why I ever sold 'the beautiful one'.

One thing about the V12 is it has no exotic/rare valves in it, only EL84 and ECC83 valves, which will always be available and cheap due to the (much bigger) guitar amp market ... so, it should not only last a lifetime, but also have really low running costs

Twas indeed a V20 ... I actually find the specs of the V12 more appealing (it's more than twice as powerful for starters thanks to those EL84's) and spend some time looking for a used one before I bought my current Radford. This is the first I've seen since then on the used market, nearly 2 years later.

Hi Steve,

It's the least we can do IMO... Meryl and yourself are making the true sacrifice and if a donation from us can help then I believe we should do so.

Wish Moum luck and do hope she gets some normality back into her life that we can take for granted at times..

All the best
Taz
