The other day i was listening to some Jimi Hendrix on my Thorens 160 and found myself just falling back on the sofa and smiling. Ive just noticed i was doing the same thing while im listening to Bowies Ziggy Stardust album as well.

What music do you find yourself involuntarily smiling to whilst listening? Is it the music or because your system is bringing out the best of it that is making you smile?

Snoop Dog

Some of the Cult's more bombastic stuff like She Sells Sanctuary.

Or some quality guitar riffing: golden era 'Stones or AC-DC

Forgot ZZ Top, especially Eliminator, Afterburner and Recycler. Recycler in particular has 'comedy' production that needs to be heard to be believed. Great fun.

That immense feeling of elation and the bloody big smile that goes with it are usually when I hear a fabulous throbbing electronic bassline by someone like Leftfield or the Chemical Brothers. It is aided no end by my amplification which produces effortless bass of the squarewave variety. Absolutely bloody love it.

I have to admit to having over 50 Willie Nelson LPs on vinyl Alan. We'll miss him when he's gone, but he'll be well preserved (Roll me up and smoke me when I die)

Peace and RIP Merle.
