I've decided to have a change of amps, so my passive preamp is now for sale. It's a Channel island audio PLC-1 passive preamp, that has a home theatre bypass and is remote control and it's original box. It's passive, so it's totally transparent, I've used this with loads of different power amps and it's never been the weak link.
I imported it from the US, so I had to replace the power supply with a separate Maplins one, as the original one was a US plug. I've tried different power supplies and batteries on this and it won't make a difference, as the electronics are kept seperate from the amp. The remote control changes the input, volume and mute the volume, nothing else.
The home theatre bypass means yo can use your home theatre system and stereo system separately without any loss of quality on your 5.1 system and gain a massive increase of quality of your 2 channel set up.
There's a couple of American reviews of the Mk.2 version, which is more or less the same, except it has a phono input.
