Been listening to them a lot recently after many years. There's an astonishing shift from Empires And Dance through to Sparkle In The Rain. New Gold Dream hinges this and must be in my top 250 albums. However I think they lost something as Michael MacNeil's evocative keyboards and tracks with space and choppy rhythms gave way to big chords and even bigger choruses. For some reason Somebody Up There Likes You melts me and there isn't a single word in it.

Saw them in '84 at the RCH in Nottingham. i clearly remember a bloke near us calling continuously for East At Easter, which they didn't play. It being Good Friday today, there's an idea...
